Kelp builds on the ideas and work of many other incredibly kind and talented people!
- The cluster and stack layout patterns were originally developed by Heydon Pickering and Andy Bell. While Kelp doesn’t use their specific implementation, it does use their ideas!
- Classless CSS for base HTML was popularized by Water.css.
- The concept of semantic classes was popularized by Pico CSS.
- The HTML Web Component approach used by Kelp was defined by Jeremy Keith.
- The Theme Builder and Custom Install tools were inspired by PrismJS by Lea Verou.
- The Kelp license model was inspired by the fair-code movement and the sustainable use license.
- Kelp’s ethical use clauses and revenue-based pricing model was inspired by Kirby CMS.
- The icons used in the various callouts and buttons are from the Bootstrap Icons set.
There are almost certainly countless other people who have influenced Kelp that I’m currently forgetting. If you think of anyone, please let me know.
And if you’re one of them, my sincerest apologies! ❤️
